Richard A. Shweder, William Claude Reavis Distinguished Service Professor of Human Development at the University of Chicago, speaks on "Robust Cultural Pluralism in the New World Order: Three Prophecies." Shweder will analyze visions of the coming world order, such as the "end of history" thesis that predicts the triumph of U.S.-style liberal democracy. This is the 2011 Distinguished Lecture sponsored by the Institute for Ethnographic Research.
