Areas of Expertise
Anatomy, Osteology, Morphological Systematics, Paleoecology
Background
Program: Human Paleobiology Ph.D (Skeletal biology and paleoecology of Paranthropus boisei)
Year of Entry: Fall 2019
Advisor: Bernard Wood
Current Research
Alexis is interested in using the fossil record to gain insight into the evolution of hominin anatomy and biology over time. Specifically, she is interested in how dental and nasofacial morphology of early hominins are affected by admixture, climatic selection, and genetic drift using functional morphology, comparative anatomy, and craniometrics.
